Steps to make hydraulic valve base

Table of contents

Hydraulic valve bases are an indispensable component in any hydraulic system. Most of them look quite simple, but to have a beautiful valve base in form, up to standard, and at a reasonable price is not easy. We will learn the steps to make a hydraulic valve base:

Step 1: There must be a hydraulic circuit diagram of the valve base and the hydraulic valves that will be installed on the valve base.

    • This step is very important, deciding whether the valve base you make can be manufactured or not, and whether it can be used when paired with other components in the system. The technical documents of the hydraulic valves will tell us the area or space occupied, the flow rate, thereby calculating the preliminary cost (to offer to customers).

Step 2: Propose valve layout options.

    • This step will determine the aesthetics and manufacturing cost. It can be said that this is the most important step, demonstrating creativity and design capacity. With a sloppy design, processing and installation will be difficult, which means additional costs. With the help of 3D software, the workload has been significantly reduced compared to a few years ago. But the idea is still the decision.

Step 3: Process according to the drawing.

    • This step will be very easy if you do step 2 well.

    Step 4: Check.

    • You must make sure that the holes are drilled to the correct depth. If the depth is not enough, it can still be repaired, but if you drill too deep and hit another hole, it is a disaster. You may have to redo another valve seat. In addition, from the customer's perspective, if you receive a valve seat with an incorrect clearance, it can be the cause of the destruction of an operating system and the cost is unimaginable.
    • At the same time, you must also check the relative position between the holes to ensure that the valves can be installed, and the sealing surface must be shiny and free of any scratches.

Step 5: Cleaning and rust prevention.

    • Use specialized hand-held machines to remove burrs and sharp edges, ream the holes. Use chemicals to remove all grease, spray high-pressure air to remove iron filings, then soak in a diluted acid solution to remove all remaining iron filings. After a certain period of time, transfer to a surface passivation solution to create an anti-rust film for the valve base.

    Step 6: Finishing paint.

    • Use specialized tape to cover the valve installation locations that are not allowed to be painted, create roughness (Sa2.5) for the surfaces exposed to air to ensure that the paint can adhere firmly. Use a suitable paint to ensure that it can withstand hydraulic oil, as well as environmental factors at the valve base installation location.
